A formidable opponent
Moutet will have to fight hard once again against a player who has already beaten him twice this year!
I remember both matches well, Moutet wasn't at that level of play and confidence yet, he was a little less good but we can't say that Etcheverry was in great form either. The Argentinian was comfortable in the match-up, playing with his forehand really doesn't bother him. He needs to go a little more forward and make more drop shots than usual too, it's not where he's best but in their two matches he did it perfectly. On hard court his quality of service is gaining a little weight as is his game in general and it's clear that he's coming back strong. Already performing well in his Davis Cup match, he confirms this here with two perfect first rounds. He's facing a new defensive profile that he'll be able to knock out with his shots. For Moutet, we'll have to do a bit of violence and try things because he's facing a style of play that I don't think he likes, and against Cazaux it was already a bit borderline, I'm afraid that won't be enough. But our national Coco is moving up a gear this season and continues to win tense matches, he could do it again!
