The right time
It's an understatement to say it, but it would be a good time for Humbert to no longer have back pain and win a few matches.
Physically limited due to a back problem, Ugo went through the American tour like a ghost, he "sold out" matches or rather he played matches while injured, it's his thing. Personally I find it stupid like when he had his thumb injury, but apparently he finds it interesting. Against Walton (his last match) he held several sets before really collapsing, it's the biggest piece of information that will determine everything in this match. If Ugo is at 100% or close to it then yes we want to bet on him, he is the defending champion and he is an excellent player. But there are no guarantees and even at 100% he can completely explode physically in three sets against a player like Brooksby. The American is a real dog on the court, he tears as hard as possible to bring back balls, make plays, break the rhythm, make his mayonnaise basically! And it already worked against Humbert this year on grass, but grass is slower and more pleasant for him (in the matchup). From the back it will be more complicated for him to contain Humbert's power and I want to say that the Frenchman can really walk all over him if he arrives in shape, his aggressiveness is perfect to prevent Brooksby from weaving his web. So I would say that on the short course and a match in two small sets without physical combat it is Humbert who wins but if it is long and we embark on a third set then Brooksby would be my favorite.
