Attention Nuno
Taking Watanuki is rarely a gift, the Japanese is capable of anything and it is he who dictates the game.
I love Watanuki in this outsider role, he is so good at creating surprises! With his huge serve and his aggressive game he prevents his opponents from having a certain rhythm which makes him the dictator of the match! I have seen him do anything several times then come out of top 20 matches, you really have to feel this player and rarely the back as a favorite. He can water and take 2 and 2 or beat the top player. And he faces a relatively beatable player especially at the beginning of the tournament: Borges. The Portuguese is a professional of long/complicated matches in the first rounds, he struggles then behind he annoys good players, it is his trademark. And there he arrives without confidence, he wins very few matches recently and even just made Portugal lose in the Davis Cup because of his two defeats.. Mentally not easy and last argument against him is Watanuki's game which he does not like. Borges does not like good servers/powerful players. If all this is not taken into account in the odds, I think we will have to go strong on Watanuki.
