Not an exciting match.
It's hard to imagine anything other than a close match where both servers are untouchable on their serve, unless...
Could this match be fundamentally different? I don't believe it because that's what we saw in Winston-Salem a few weeks ago, even though there were three breaks in the match! We have two excellent servers, Rinderknech is much more offensive in the game but much less mobile and capable of holding the baseline. On the other hand, his moves to the net are perfect to avoid having to battle against Medjedovic on his line, the Serb can quickly become a sander when he's physically fit. And precisely, should we be worried? He wasn't at his best against Rune and before that in the Davis Cup he was close to cramping, it's a big area of improvement for him and given the conditions this week (hot and humid), I wouldn't be surprised to see him suffer at certain times! His preparation for this tournament is limited to a defeat against Rune where he leads and has to win the first set then after that he completely spins out. It's a recurring thing for him to be a wet blanket in hot moments, it was already the case against Rinderknech where he needed 5 match points in the tie-break to finally win. The Frenchman knows it and will feel it too, his goal will be to get there (or to break before!). He impresses me, his good season doesn't stop, he assured in the Davis Cup against Cilic then after losing in qualifying last week in Beijing he found the resources to almost take out ADM as a Lucky Looser, his match was exceptional by the way. He is mentally good, physically good and in good shape this year, he is not a guy you want to play
