Musetti pulled out last week because of a glute injury—Is he back to 100% yet?

That’s exactly what Musetti was doing before he got hurt—he got to Asia early and started stringing wins on hard. His matches were more polished than usual on this surface, and he really wanted to perform even at those first small tournaments. Total opposite for Comesana, who played his first match in Asia in his opener; everything pointed to a trap match against an in-form qualifier, but in the end, with a lot of clarity, Comesana got it done. 94% of points won behind his first serve—he doesn’t have Mpetshi’s serve, but man does he know how to capitalize on it! He also won 13/17 points at the net, which is important before facing Musetti, because against the Italian you’ve got to come forward and finish points. Comesana’s got a nice drop shot too, which could really bother a Musetti who often stands way behind the baseline to buy time. Bottom line, I see the Argentine having some interesting weapons to challenge Musetti. Obviously with the Italian’s recent injury you’re even more tempted to lay him, but you shouldn’t do it just for that. If Musetti’s at 100%, he’s the big favorite here, but even then I think we’ve got a real match on our hands!
