The famous one!
"Next time I see Daniil play Svrcina, I'm jumping on a handicap..."
Those were the words of David, aka ev123, our Swedish analyst, after their match in Toronto this year. Why’d he say that? Because Daniil struggles when he has to constantly dictate play. And Svrcina, meanwhile, is in his comfort zone as a big rat who fights like a motherfucker on every point. I love this guy. He doesn’t look like much, same as his game. But he’s a warrior (I play the same way, that’s why!). That said, Daniil hasn’t been the same since Toronto. He changed coach, and changed his game. He’s committed to being more aggressive and not losing his shit mentally. On outdoor hard, I’d say he’s back at a top-15 level. He lost to Tien last week, but that was because he cramped up (and he still has a little issue closing matches properly). His evolution is gonna cause more problems for our boy Dalibor. After that, with this heat and humidity, it kinda reshuffles the deck a bit. And if Daniil’s too short, we know what to do...
