The wafer or the headsman?
Goffin seems the favorite in this match because we're indoors, but..
But I think Comesana has a game that can work well indoors too; he’s got a great serve and knows how to take the initiative, and he’s not afraid to come to the net either! He’s already beaten some very good players on fast courts, and I absolutely don’t want to underestimate him in this tournament—he’s a big-hitting specialist. Goffin will have to watch out and, above all, be tactically sharp; the Belgian is far more experienced in these conditions and needs to make that felt. Goffin struggles against counterpunchers, but for me Comesana can also be categorized as a good server/aggressive player—he doesn’t just counter. If Goffin returns well, he’ll find it much easier to take the match where he wants it to go. The Belgian withdrew from Shanghai with a neck issue, but he sounded quite reassuring in his interview; he’ll be at 100% for this match and is even aiming for a strong end to the season—he still has the game to produce big results. Still, be careful about the start in his home tournament; it’s not easy to settle in when you want to do well, and I’ll say it again: Comesana is a giant-killer. He’s coming in with no pressure, and I’m almost certain he’ll put up a big fight. A slightly tense Goffin at the start who should free himself up afterward? That seems the most logical to me, and I’m going to target a bet along those lines.
