Keeping the Momentum?

A big upset in the first round against Ofner...

Borg really went for his shots, and I thought he got some decent pop on his forehand and serve. His backhand is good, his best shot. We've seen him play quite good matches against high-level opponents now a few times... He has a level that allows him to compete for a bit; the issue is his consistency. And while it was a good performance from him, it has to be said that Ofner was absolutely horrendous. Very poor returning, constantly overpressing, and missing easy finishing shots over and over. As for Shapovalov, I found him quite poor in the Asian Swing; his matches against Altmaier and Lehecka were not good at all. However, this match should suit him very nicely... in a tournament he has won and been a finalist in. And yes, he does have some connection to Sweden, since his wife is from there. We also know that Shapovalov performs a lot better on indoor hardcourts than anything else... and the slow-ish conditions give him a lot of time on return while his serve will still overpower Leo. The outcome of Shapovalov's matches can differ so wildly; he can 6-2, 6-1 opponents or go deep into tiebreaks for no reason except himself self-destructing. I mentioned the positives for Borg earlier, he was serving decently and going for his forehands, and his backhand will be useful here against a lefty...
