De Minaur, too strong for Misolic
The Austrian’s courage likely won’t be enough against the Australian’s consistency and discipline.
What a match from Misolic yesterday to take out Carabelli! It honestly wasn’t top-notch tennis, but it took a lot of courage to win that one after a complicated storyline with lots of missed chances, and his restrained joy at the end was quite touching!
He got very lucky with the draw by getting Carabelli, and today a whole different mountain stands before him: the underdog dismantler, the ruthless ADM.
De Minaur was reassuring, comfortably taking care of Rodionov despite a very good first set from the Austrian; he couldn’t keep it up and ADM then rolled. That’s exactly my script for today. Misolic will probably hang in there at some point, but between yesterday’s energy and emotional drain, the lack of a big serve and a truly big weapon, he’ll be short on arguments against ADM, who was pretty solid the day before yesterday and is finding conditions here that suit him very well.
