Musetti has Turin in his sights!

Probably freed by his virtually secured qualification, the Italian meets a rusty Zverev for a duel that promises to be tight.

Musetti can breathe; yesterday he took a huge step toward the Masters. Between his win over Moutet and the retirement losses of Ruud and FAA, he now has almost a 500-point lead over his chasers and, barring a miracle, it should be enough for him. He could even move up to 6th and overtake Shelton & ADM if he wins today. A real relief for him, and time to play completely free.

He was honestly very good yesterday against Moutet, in line with his strong week, and I think the conditions suit him perfectly. The slightly higher bounce gives him a bit of time, and his heavy hitting is really effective in these conditions.

Zverev didn’t play yesterday, benefiting from Griekspoor’s walkover. I’d be inclined to think that’s almost a minor negative for him, because we know he’s a player who needs rhythm and who builds up steam as tournaments go on.

H2H is 3–1 for Musette, including an indoor match right here last year in the quarterfinals. He was thoroughly outplayed at first, then scraped the second after saving a lot of points before taking over. Zverev was at 1.25 back then, which really shows the difference in momentum compared to 2025, with Musetti’s big confirmation and Zverev’s disappointing season.
