A clean first round, but a far tougher test awaits...

So yes, in his match against Mpetshi Perricard, it was almost as if he had not been gone from the tour since Wimbledon! He was able to find his way into GMP's huge serve and was far superior from the baseline. Dimitrov was quite well equipped for that match... he is a great server himself and has a lot of variety to put the ball into uncomfortable (low) spots for GMP. However, now the matchup will be completely different. Medvedev (unexpectedly) had a very straightforward match against Munar, who did not seem to enjoy the conditions and was expressing his dislike for the tennis balls (similar to FAA). Dimitrov has struggled against players like Medvedev and Zverev a lot in the past; they serve well and can wear him down from the baseline (and both have good two-handed backhands). Although he is not getting younger, we have seen some really good matches from Dimitrov in the last years against top players. While he might be worse off physically, he is playing quite freely with nothing to lose these days (just enjoying it), which makes him dangerous! Could we see a competitive match where Dimitrov starts well, before the Medvedev Wall becomes a bit too tough to hit through...?
