The speed of the courts helps him generate more power and get a few more free points than elsewhere, and with his legendary mobility he can still defend when it’s too fast for others. It was a bit of an anomaly to see him without a win here; he deserves his spot, and now he’s in the semifinals against his nemesis. I don’t even know if the term “nemesis” is strong enough to describe the disastrous matchup and the one-way H2H for Sinner, it’s that pronounced. 12/0, only two sets lost, and straightforward scorelines in most meetings—on paper ADM has no chance. Sinner does everything better than him, he’s at home, and he still looks like the best player in the world given what he showed in the group stage—it’s almost impossible to see him losing tomorrow. The sliver of hope for ADM is imagining a legendary letdown; he’s come a long way mentally after his loss to Musetti and responded like a champion—he can ride that to play the match of his life tomorrow..
