The potential banana-skin match for Kartal?

…and I think Kartal has a very ABC kind of game, clean and solid, built on repeating the same patterns. It’s effective, robotic, but also very easy to read. Her previous match against Tjen, who isn’t at her 2025 level, showed it: despite the win, she dropped a set, which is a sign that everything isn’t perfectly in place yet either.

On the other side, Seidel comes in with a real warm-up match under her belt. She blew away a local wild card in the first round, which allowed her to quickly gain confidence and really get into her tournament. That established rhythm inevitably changes how you read the match.

The matchup is more open than it seems. Kartal will try to lock things down and make her opponent hit one more shot, while Seidel has the weapons to step on the gas and break the rhythm. Where the market is pricing it close to 25/75, I lean more toward 40/60 here, which clearly changes the perception of risk, and Seidel clearly becomes a value pick.

Kartal remains more reliable over the long haul, but in this specific context, Seidel definitely has a say, and the scenario could quickly become uncomfortable for the Brit.
