... or how to sum up the Ukrainian's tennis in two words

Dayana is known for her high-risk tennis, which naturally comes with some errors. We were already talking about it yesterday during the analysis of her match against Fernandez. The zones she hit, combined with surprising power, got the better of a very bland Canadian, who was on the back foot from start to finish in barely an hour. I’m also satisfied on a more personal note, being a huge fan from the beginning, and having had the chance to see her in Strasbourg in 2019 when she claimed her Alsatian title (yes, I love my region ^^).

The upcoming matchup will depend above all on what the Ukrainian produces. If she brings the same constant aggression, the same quality on serve, and puts Pegula under pressure right from the start, there’s a scenario where she can get through at this early stage of the season.
