Kecma beginner?

Ah, this Serb, how many times have we analyzed him, and how many times has he surprised us...

Quite a clever one who can read the Serb like an open book. His big trend in 2025 was often fighting well (or let’s say having a decent tennis level) and often losing. We know he has a sort of chronic weariness, worthy of a native Dutchman. But there are a few periods where he has that extra something you could call confidence, aggressiveness, or quite simply balls. To me he’s a guy who is too reactive. All the more so because his game really allows his opponents to play well. Yet Adelaide had given him some very good results these last two years. I think the fast conditions force him to be more realistic, more proactive, and help him a bit to make up for his mental softness. He reminds me a bit of Korda sometimes. Not sharks, but a kind of tennis that’s capable of great things. On the other side, I don’t need to introduce our beloved Monegasque anymore. Now 31st in the world thanks to his unreal end of season, he’s now “forced” to play top-50 opposition in the first round. Quite a change from the Lajals, Addeds and the like! Given the level he had at the end of the season, Kecma is very much within his reach, but we don’t know when he’ll manage to find that level again. Against Korda, he couldn’t find his magic anymore and was making too many errors. It’s a tricky choice we have to make here, but for me, Val could still struggle against a good baseliner, even in fast conditions. I prefer him against a pure attacker for example. But watch out for Kecma, my friends, he could fall into so many traps...
