Finally coming back?

Agut has kept postponing his return since his injury, it's already been several months that he’s been out, without us really noticing..

Planned return in Brussels then postponed. Since then, nothing—he was supposed to play in Brisbane but apparently had a stomach issue. His comeback should finally be official this time, and he’s got a horrible draw to celebrate it! Just like Paul last week against Mpetshi, Agut is going to have to find some rhythm and be clutch against a player who basically doesn’t let you play. The Spaniard will first need to reassure everyone about his injury, then get back his efficiency and a good level of play, all that against a servebot in form. Mpetshi made it through two rounds in Brisbane, the conditions were perfect for him, and even if it’s a bit slower this week, from what I saw in qualifying it still plays to his advantage. His serve should do big damage once again. I didn’t find him amazing, just efficient but brave enough to move forward and take the net when needed; the game plan will be the same here, and that’s what you have to do anyway to beat Agut—Gio won’t manage it from the baseline. As often, it’s hard to price the Frenchman’s matches; I come to this conclusion: when Mpetshi is the underdog, he’s interesting; when he’s the favorite, you should lay him. The only thing that throws me off this time is that his opponent is coming back from injury, and I’ll add that Agut doesn’t have good stats at all against Mpetshi’s profile: he doesn’t return well and hates players who come forward to the net—it's a lot to deal with..
