Explosion
Two big talents about to play again at a very high level. Woe to the loser!
And yes, I feel that both players are not far from getting back to a very good level, and whoever wins here will gain crucial confidence for the Australian Open. Tallon was in the stands to watch Ugo play his first round. The two men know each other well. I even think they like each other. The Dutchman showed good progress over the course of his matches at the United Cup. As for Ugo, he’s also building up little by little. But I still don’t see either of them at their best yet, their maximum level being too unstable. So I imagine a tough match in terms of numbers. Two very aggressive profiles, moving forward, with a few lapses that will quickly be exploited by the opponent. Right away I’d say Tallon in 3 sets here, because I find Ugo just a bit more sluggish. It’s subjective of course. But still. The Frenchman has match points against a Norrie who basically gifted him the first set, then he very logically wins against Terence. On Tallon’s side, there’s one good set in each of his matches, but against opponents who are much harder to handle. So I have a pretty clear idea of my bet!
