Mumu’s celly?
Do you see Muller’s “air-con” celebration in front of the Australian supporters??
Well, personally, not really this time! I'm a bit skeptical about Muller's ability to handle this kind of long format, potentially with heat, and on top of that he has a really bad record at the Australian Open. Nothing much to criticize him for at the start of the season though, he loses twice to Giron in a matchup he clearly didn't like. For Popyrin it's almost even more frustrating since he gets two annoying draws: Halys and Opelka, it's hard to play good matches against that type of profile... The Australian is fairly optimistic for this tournament, he says his preparation went well and that he's genuinely targeting this event. Last year he was a bit injured and lost to Moutet, but this time I think the match-up is rather decent. There are going to be many more long rallies than in his recent matches, which is good for him to set up his grinder game. The serve advantage is on his side as well this time: he's the one who's supposed to be hard to break and then clutch in tiebreaks, especially with the crowd behind him. The pressure will be high, especially at the start of the match, but once that's over I still often see the Australian coming through, even if Muller probably puts up a good fight, right?
