The Djoker is back!
Out for a stroll for his comeback?
Not the most thrilling match to analyse, so I’ll keep it fairly short.
Djoko now pretty much only plays for these Grand Slam tournaments, in which he was once again particularly strong last year. We know the AO is his second home and we can easily see him being solid here again. Martinez is a solid baseliner but without a big weapon, really not the kind of profile to bother the Serb. He had a horrible spell at the end of last season, but he’s just come back with a win in a Challenger in India, which is a sign of good form.
Djokovic hasn’t played since Athens, so we can imagine he won’t be completely perfect right away, which I think is already factored into the line, since we have a games line at 29.5, which is relatively high given the theoretical gap in level between the two players.
