Always the same thing..

Cazaux is injured again, it's systematic with him.

French players are never really at ease, they’re always dealing with some issue and have to live with it. He gets a few months of respite but generally he can’t put together a full season. 2026 is off to a bad start since he retired in his second match because of an elbow problem… No news since then and a Slam coming up without us knowing more about this injury, it’s hard to really anticipate anything. I’ll rather tell you about Faria, who’s coming out of the qualifiers! The Portuguese already pulled this off last year, even winning a round before taking a set off Djoko!! And since then? Not much, he’s been alternating between small results in Challengers and quite a few disappointments. His profile is pretty simple: big serve, big forehand, and the rest is fairly average to be honest. He’s only 22 and will definitely keep improving, but from what I saw in qualifying I don’t really find him dangerous enough to say: watch out for THIS qualifier in the first round, he could cause an upset. I’m not overly excited, but at least he’s at 100% physically and he already has three wins in his legs. I also think that with the pressure of qualifying for a Slam, he was tight in his last match; with more relaxation and nothing to lose, it should be better. I find Cazaux much more complete and simply a better version of Faria in the end; without injury, the Frenchman is much better. That’s how I see it; now we have to deal with the injury (or at least the lack of information) on Cazaux’s side…
