2025 looks promising, what about 2026?

Clash of styles on the agenda!

Both players had a strong second half of the 2025 season. Hanfmann in the autumn with some very fine performances, especially indoors, and Svajda in the heart of the summer before ending his season a bit early because of his dying father, whom he wanted to accompany right to the end and whom he sadly lost at the end of October.

Looking at the 2026 momentum, Hanfmann lost in the first round to Atmane in Brisbane, then he was supposed to play the qualifiers before finally being moved into the main draw, so he didn’t play last week. He’ll arrive fresh but probably lacking match rhythm. Conversely, Svajda has just come through very impressive qualifying, winning his three matches without dropping a set.

First meeting between the two men and a real clash of styles in store. Hanfmann will try to impose his game in rather short phases, relying on his serve and forehand, whereas Svajda has a much more counter-punching/solid profile.

My first idea was to go with the American at around 1.8, but Hanfmann impressed me a lot at the end of 2025, and right now we’re lacking information on his 2026 level, so I’ve pulled back a bit, as I think I was about to slightly underestimate him.
