Two players are really happy to be here, but they’re chaining a lot of points... Who’s going to crack?

I do have a little idea about this one... First of all, I’d say they’re both a bit on the edge physically, because we know Wu: his number one problem is his body. And in his previous match against Nardi, he really scared us at the end of set 1, before pulling himself together and actually finishing stronger than the Italian. On Spizzirri’s side, there’s the whole Auckland sequence. Five matches in a row, with the last one in 3 sets against Marozsan, where we clearly saw that fatigue had really affected his game. That said, he played his R1 five days later. So I’m more optimistic for him. Another reason behind my opinion here is the American’s game itself. He’s an exceptional baseliner we’ve been discovering over the past year. He’s got that extra composure, it’s great to watch. He beat Garin, pushed Marozsan hard, and just beat Fonseca. So we can say he’s doing fine in terms of absorbing power, right? ;) On the other side, we saw Wu struggle against Nardi precisely because the Italian also has that baseliner quality. So those are two good reasons for me to see Spizzirri winning here: the physical aspect and the match-up. Do you see any others?
