We haven’t seen much of Khacha in 2026. A quick stop in HK and a low-key AO for him with a surprise loss in R3 to Darderi in extremely hot conditions. He didn’t play Montpellier or the Davis Cup, so we find him here in conditions that should suit him.
He has a manageable draw with De Jong, who will be playing at home but is on a rough streak and hasn’t really got his season going yet. He was in India on outdoor hard courts, where he played two matches, including a loss to Suresh, who is ranked around 500, so it’s hard to say things are looking good for him, especially with a long trip to deal with and very different conditions coming from the 30 degrees of Bangalore. De Jong will obviously give everything he has within his means for his home tournament, but it seems hard to imagine him shining here given the circumstances and conditions that are far from ideal for him.
