Big match

Great matchup with Grigor as the outsider, slowly continuing his return to competition. Does he deserve that status?

Argh, not so easy to say. I thought Grigor wasn’t bad when he came back, and I think he was a bit unlucky with his draws. I imagine he’s also been able to build himself back up physically, to really launch into his season. Once again, he’s going to face a solid guy very early in the tournament. The American Michelsen has more rhythm at the moment. Sure. He’s also hiding behind an excellent quality of serve, so we’re already thinking of a tight match, at least in terms of the scoreline. As for the rest, I found Michelsen in good form in Australia, especially in Brisbane to be honest, but I’m still not convinced by his ability to maintain a high level throughout an entire match. A good Dimitrov will of course have a great range of shots to unsettle him, and I think he’ll manage to do that for at least one set. So despite the Bulgarian’s comeback, I’d bet more on a close match than on a win.
