Already a good test

Etcheverry is one of the favorites and after an easy first (round/match) he’s going to be challenged as he should be

Nice first round from Etcheverry, who was focused and didn’t leave much on the table. I didn’t see it live but apparently he threw up in the second set, with no consequences. Maybe a bit of heat stroke, or worse, the start of an illness, which would be golden info, but I don’t have that. He’ll be up against his compatriot Burruchaga, an in-form Argentine coming off a final in Rosario and who just rolled past Djere easily. He’s had some off-court issues recently, he received serious insults/threats concerning his family during the last Challenger, but he rose above it and seems ready to fight to the end.

He’s not as good as Etcheverry, but on clay the margins get thinner, they’re going to have to work hard and long on both sides. Burruchaga is a bit more creative but weaker on serve and less powerful. He’s trailing 2–1 in the H2H, the matches go back a bit but they were tight. Logic tells me Etcheverry will be too solid on his service games and will handle the ends of sets better to get the win, but be careful not to go too extreme with the odds either.
