La Spizz riding the momentum?
The American seems to be playing at a solid top-50 level since the start of the season—enough to easily dispatch the qualifier Pinnington?
Indeed, it’s hard to imagine a different outcome in this match. Pinnington played it very well against Cobolli and showed a good level. Above all, mentally, this guy is solid, he never gives up. On the other hand, Cobolli’s level is not good. The guy forces every shot and starts making errors way too quickly. So for Pinnington, we’ve had Dutra Silva, Kypson, then Cobolli. Nothing to get carried away about. What’s going to happen? The Brit has already done his tournament, and he’s going to play completely free. He has everything to gain here. In terms of game, he’s pretty complete without having a super strong weapon. A fairly decent match-up for the excellent baseliner that Spizzirri is. So I imagine a match with the American winning but getting bothered for a set. He could even lose it, but then he’d restore order in the third. That’s why, if you’re in favor of a slightly bolder bet on this match, I’d recommend a game handicap rather than a set handicap.
