The eternal debate
What is Michelsen’s real level? I still wonder about it...
Last week, I was voting for Foki against Michelsen, arguing that the level and quality of the Spaniard’s movement and baseline game were a serious weapon against Michelsen’s profile, but my colleagues went with Michelsen. There’s a puzzle with this guy: why do we manage to be 80% in agreement with pretty much everyone else on the team, but not with him? Here, once again against Val, I find him just a tiny bit weaker. From the baseline already, and then in his shorter patterns when he comes to the net, we know Val is deadly. Mentally, no issue, but tennis-wise, I see a ceiling for the American. Because yes, Val is really playing at his ranking level, and on top of that he’s confident after his win over Bublik in the Davis Cup. I’m going to act according to the odds!
