Talent with an advantage?
Prizmic hasn’t yet lived up to all the expectations around him, but he gets closer every time.
After an excellent 2025 season on the Challenger tour, Prizmic is now attacking the main circuit, and given his qualities, he clearly has what it takes to perform. He’s mobile, tenacious from the baseline, and solid on both sides; when he’s in form, he’s extremely hard to beat, and that seems to be the case right now. Two wins in Davis Cup and two wins here in qualifying without losing a set—I watched his Q2 and yes, he looks in great shape. I like the conditions for him here; it’s less annoying than in Buenos, for example, and he’ll be hard to hit through or wear down over time, even for a player like Passaro. The Italian is a lucky loser, so we have to be wary, but it hasn’t been a great version of Passaro in recent matches; his forehand hurts, but he can spray the court everywhere or mentally unravel when his game isn’t working. The heavier and more humid conditions here clearly won’t help him make the difference against an excellent baseline player like Prizmic; the Croatian is a big favorite in this matchup for me, plain and simple!
