Better for Arthur?
After a tricky first round in tough conditions, normally it should go better now, right?
Not very convincing from Fils in terms of level in the first round, but his attitude was perfect and the opponent was a pain to play against. It was a match he could definitely have lost, yet he managed it well in the tough moments. He’s so strong and complete when he cuts down on the errors. His problem is the return and being able to tighten up his game. On paper he’s better than Quentin, but watch out because Quentin really made a strong impression on me today!
Indeed, he knocked out Carreno in a match where he even dominated from the baseline from start to finish, he made fewer errors and was more aggressive. He’s a nightmare to play when he does that while still keeping a huge level on serve. If he’s just as dominant on serve and just as solid from the baseline, he could get into Fils’ head during the match.
Or else Arthur will just roll and be way too powerful from the baseline to get caught out. In any case, every time they play each other there’s at least a tie-break and Halys manages to take a set. Fils wins, but never easily, so we should look for a bet that goes in that direction again, because I think that’s exactly what we’re in for.
