A first time

It’s the first meeting between Lehecka and Zizou, how’s it going to go?

First off, we’ve got two very serious R1s. Lehecka steamrolled Brooksby in terms of power, and I’m not forgetting that when he’s not injured, this cheeky guy is often really good. His record in Doha is pretty insane over just two editions, and given how he’s started, we have to take him seriously.

Bergs will have to be taken seriously too, we know him, he likes pulling off big upsets as a giant killer. He got past Mpetshi, which is never easy, and on top of that he served extremely well. Now we’re stepping up a level with a guy who’s much stronger from the baseline while still keeping a big serving quality, so he’ll have to be even better tomorrow.

For a first matchup I admit I don’t really know how to position myself. I like Bergs when he’s on return, he defends and counters well, I don’t like it as much when he has to dictate too much and that won’t be the case here. But he can’t afford to sit back too much either because Lehecka knows how to play and he’s insanely powerful. I’m still team Lehecka for this match, but if we feel live that it’s a trap, I’ll change my tune.
