First of his name!
First meeting between a Svajda breaking into the top 100 for the first time in his career and a Tiafoe being his usual self.
Well, what to do with this match... I’ll be honest, it really doesn’t inspire me. I’m thinking about Tiafoe’s aggressiveness on the return, which will have less impact than it did against Hijikata. But I’m also thinking about Svajda’s lack of pure power in the rallies, which will allow Frances to cook up his usual stuff. Svajda is red hot right now, whereas Tiafoe hasn’t done anything this season yet, apart from hyping everyone up with his early-season statements before the buzz quickly died down. So I’d lean more towards a disruptive underdog than a controlling favorite, but once again, I’m not comfortable with this match.
