Another chance for revenge to take
Burruchaga got his revenge on Carabelli, and once again he faces a player he usually loses to when they play each other
Good match from Burruchaga but on the other side Carabelli was hampered by a thigh injury, the same one he had at the end of last season. He kept playing but was only half there. It’s never easy to finish a match against a guy who doesn’t move and goes for a lot, Burruchaga made some silly errors and scared himself a bit at times but he got through. He did celebrate weirdly at the end though, it looked like he was drained by the match or the stakes… The conditions are extreme, there are still a few quick storms expected and huge humidity tonight, physically it could blow up on both sides.
Kopriva has just cooled down the local Heide and the Brazilian says his game really pissed him off, which is also what Berrettini was saying last week, and I get them! Kopriva hits flat on the backhand side and puts on great pressure, he has awkward targets and uses drop shots too, his playing style is quite unusual and Burruchaga knows it well since he’s already lost twice to him. A three-set match in Madrid and a thrashing in Argentina a few years ago. It’s not unplayable for Burruchaga either, especially given his current level, he’s playing well and coming in with confidence, it’s kind of the right time to get the win, no?
