Me, not really...

A bit disappointed with Atmane’s performance last week against Cobolli, but I think it’s mostly because I had expectations for him, whereas a decent Cobolli is not a good match-up for him. Today, he’s up against Dimitrov. The Bulgarian is not yet in his ideal form, but in pure tennis terms he’s still solid. He wasn’t able to maintain the physical intensity against Michelsen for example, but for me that’s really a matter of rhythm and fitness. He played a doubles match yesterday with Cobolli here, which they won in a super tie-break. That’s always something to build on! He’s had very good results here in the past. But what I’d really like to highlight is the match-up. Of course Terence is a lefty and Grigor has a one-handed backhand, and of course Terence can put you under crazy pressure with his power. But in these slower conditions, and especially with a Grigor who unravels his opponents’ games with an incredible range of shots, I honestly struggle to see the impatient Atmane coming out on top here.
