8-2 Ruud
It’s not the H2H between the two players, but the number of wins vs losses for the Norwegian in Acapulco. Not bad, right?
Yes! If he doesn’t get food poisoning (see 2025), Ruud can get a good result here with conditions that favor his game, and a tennis level that I actually find not bad at all. Now, there’s a question to ask: are the conditions slow enough that Wu’s aggressiveness/power doesn’t bother him too much? Because we know that if Casper is too short on time, he struggles. But besides the conditions that are favorable to him, I think he’s really improved on hard courts, and I was impressed by how fast the rallies were between him and Giron last week. Another argument is that Wu very rarely plays his “prime” game for an entire match, where he’s ultra-aggressive. So I’m fairly confident that the Norwegian will win this match with a pretty good probability.
