Until when?
Tabilo was really close to cracking last night and now he already has to go again against Baez.
Tired after the first set and then extremely loose in the last two sets to get the win, Tabilo only just scraped through last night! The grind after Rio is starting to show now, you can see it, he’s reaching his limit. He’s still dangerous even when tired because he has real top-quality serving and can also go all-out on every groundstroke; he’s the kind of player who can just let his arm fly and get away with it when his legs aren’t following anymore. With the fiery crowd helping him as well, he’ll fight hard all week, but his limits are getting closer…
Baez is still not at his best level on clay this season, but he just pulled off a nice win against Garin yesterday in a high-level match. I really liked his attitude, he stayed calm even after the 6–0 he took in the second set. His level can still go up, that’s for sure, and even though I find Tabilo better recently, we obviously have to take into account that Baez is 10x fresher physically. With another tough match yesterday, Tabilo is close to breaking down and we’ll have to bet against him unless the odds are too heavily in Baez’s favor!
