The Bellucci bright spot?

Things are finally looking a bit better for the Italian, but it’s still not quite there yet...

The Italian has regained a bit of confidence in Acapulco with wins marked by effective aggressiveness and a reduction in unforced errors, after a sluggish start to the season. On the other hand, I’m not getting carried away because he played Hijikata and a not-very-involved Fokina, and his match against Tiafoe wasn’t of very high quality. However, he does have the level required to shine at Indian Wells if he’s highly motivated, which could well be the case in such a prestigious tournament as Indian Wells. As for Diallo, the Canadian is going through a rough patch, marked by many losses. The conditions at Indian Wells, where the ball travels through the air faster, don’t seem to suit him. With the ball flying more easily, he could be prone to a few more unforced errors, which isn’t great for an attacking player lacking confidence. It’s also important to note that Bellucci has never lost to Diallo in their three meetings. Even though Bellucci was outplayed in their last encounter, it seems he deliberately conserved his energy in that match, knowing he would be a lucky loser... That reinforces my belief that the match-up suits him. Given the Italian’s odds, there might be a betting opportunity here.
