Very light weights
An average height of 1.72m on the court, these aren’t next-gen profiles but at least we’re going to see some good tennis!
Tseng is coming out of the qualies, I saw his first round against Goffin and it was really good, super aggressive right from the return and always trying to impose a high tempo. I didn’t see his second round but according to Elie it was really bad, he was tense and made loads of unforced errors, that’s kind of the risk with his game. I do like his attitude though, and I think a final qualifying round for this kind of tournament is way harder to handle than a first-round main draw match afterwards, so I think we’re going to see a more relaxed Tseng, and a better one at that!
Enough to take down Báez? Well, why not! The Argentine, a golden-swing specialist, is coming back empty-handed from this swing. It’s really disappointing, especially after the huge start to the season he had; maybe he’s turning into a hard-court player like Munar in the end... We’ll get the answer during this swing, but he really didn’t leave a good impression on me during the golden swing, I remain a bit skeptical for his first round and I’m waiting to see. A good Báez is mobile enough and strong enough in defense to make Tseng crack, but we don’t have that version of the Argentine right now.
