Victoria Mboko is experiencing a meteoric rise that has propelled the 19-year-old Canadian into the world Top 10 at the start of 2026. Her season has been marked by impressive consistency in the big tournaments: she reached the final of the WTA 1000 in Doha in February, after notable wins over Elena Rybakina and Jelena Ostapenko, as well as the final of the WTA 500 in Adelaide in January. This run, capped by a round of 16 at the Australian Open, confirms her status as a new force on the WTA Tour.

Kimberly Birrell is showing very strong momentum that allows her to approach this tournament with real confidence. The Australian has put together a string of strong performances in recent weeks, highlighted by a quarter-final in Austin at the end of February, where she notably tamed Ajla Tomljanović. Her convincing first-round win at Indian Wells against Oksana Selekhmeteva, secured in two controlled sets, reflects her current confidence and her ability to dictate play on hard courts.

Given Birrell’s good momentum, I was thinking of going for an over, but I don’t have any historical or statistical angle that points in that direction.
