Arthurito already too far gone?

Since his comeback, where do we place Fils? For me, his tennis is in the world top or not far from it.

A real impression of strength, every match Fils plays is getting more and more polished and he’s not far from having fully found his rhythm and intensity again. With his movement and his power from the baseline, he’s already one of the best players in the world, so of course he has to be priced like one. For his first-round match he was at 1.49, which was crazy to everyone at TM given how clearly above the rest we felt he was. Prizmic was hampered, but that doesn’t take anything away from what Fils showed, and to me that was fine, he deserved 1.25/30 max. We wanted more and we were really looking forward to a second match against Musetti, except the Italian lost to Fucsovics!

The Hungarian played a high-level match, he knew exactly what to do tactically and his game plan worked perfectly. Add to that a Musetti who was completely out of rhythm for his comeback, and you get a very one-sided 7/5 6/1 win. I have to say Fucso made a big impression on me: flawless serve, monstrous forehand and an interesting net game. It’s this version of him that has already beaten top players in the past, and I see him as a real threat when he starts building confidence.

Fils is obviously still my big favorite for this match; if the Frenchman plays his game, he can beat 98% of the tour and in that case Fucso won’t be able to do much. I think the Frenchman will win, but I also expect a strong challenge on the other side of the net. I had Fils around 1.25/30 against Prizmic and this time I’d put him around 1.35/40.
