The one
There aren't 36 guys who regularly give Sinner a hard time on the circuit, and Shapo is one of them!
Why? In my opinion, for two main reasons. 1: Shapo is left-handed. The trajectories are different, the serves into the body are a pain to handle, the positioning… We’d already seen that Atmane, another good lefty server, bothered him. 2: he dares everything (that’s even how you recognize him ;)). Shapo’s aggressiveness and power have the potential to disrupt Sinner in his steamroller role. He can’t attack and dictate the rally as well when the ball is less controllable. On the other hand, Shapo will almost never maintain the level you need to impose over an entire match. Today, my heart is torn between a hyper-charged Shapo who’s still playing really well and has absolutely nothing to lose, and a Sinner who’s in a rebuilding phase—and that, guys, that annoys me even more. When Sinner keeps a low profile to get his brilliance back, the guy wants to win absolutely every point. The slightest lapse from Shapo will be punished. So depending on the odds, I already know what to do…
