Fritz has the house
Will Michelsen be strong enough to overcome a top 10 player ready to do anything for his tournament?
Fritz at Indian Wells is always scary. You need a player in great form and/or a great player to beat him. Michelsen is playing well, but he has his limits. He likes to keep points short, he’s adjusted his game a bit here and I think it suits him well. But he’s not the sharpest player physically. They’re playing during the day this time, so the faster conditions should favor both players, but a bit more for Fritz. Fritz really fell off in his second set against Fearnley, but he pulled himself together. He knows he won’t be allowed that kind of mistake here against Michelsen, and I find that reassuring for his chances of winning.
