While the Greek really seemed to be getting his mojo back in Doha, he followed up with two very average matches that immediately cast doubt on his ability to rediscover his best level. Honestly, I’m getting a bit fed up with having to play guessing games with him. Despite his last two defeats, his basic game is still there. But up against the very good counterpuncher Arthur Fery, that could be a problem.

The Brit was back in Cap Cana after his excellent Australian Open. If he plays at the level he reached over there, facing a Tsitsi in a slump, of course he can win. But I haven’t seen any of his matches since he came back, so I’m relying on Marcos’s assessment of his current level. I know he scraped through in extremis against Bu in Q2 here, and that if he’s got his legs, he can stand up to Tsitsipas’s aggressive game. So there might be a handicap worth looking for...
