Suspicion about Arthur?

A young local player in good shape who serves very well and will have nothing to lose, it feels like a trap, or not?

I backed Blanch against Struff and indeed the American is already at the level to compete with this type of player, largely thanks to his aggressiveness and his serve, which is already really solid. It’s a great match that confirms his good form after his interesting matches in Phoenix, and he’s got a good attitude too. I think he will be (or already is) a nice little trap to run into in a first round under fast conditions. A trap for players like Struff or maybe a seeded player lacking confidence, but normally not for Fils.

I’m really struggling to see Arthur getting caught out here for several reasons: Blanch’s strength is short rallies, but he’s still a bit light when he has to work for a long time without having the upper hand in the rally, and in this case Arthur returns particularly well, he’s going to make him play enough and every counter will be a winner or almost! The Frenchman has been one of the best players in the world since his comeback, absolutely nothing negative to say and I think he’s grown in maturity; he can win this kind of match even without playing that well, with experience as they say! He’s defending his quarterfinal, the conditions are great for him, and no matter how hard I look I just don’t see why he would lose this match — maybe an off day + Blanch on fire, but you really have to speculate a lot to picture that…

So I’m going to go with Fils, but I don’t think we’ll get a decent price, maybe the 2–0 scoreline is the realistic angle, even if we get a tiebreak?
