The Argentinian shows really great motivation, which helps him use his strengths as a baseliner to make the rallies as long as possible and win quite a few important points from the back of the court. But then, when he plays a guy who combines a strong serve with solid baseline play, it’s a different story. The guy has improved on hard courts, but let’s not get carried away either ;). Especially here, if Korda is no longer physically bothered, he’s in very convincing form at the moment. Carabelli’s game gives him time to set up his attacks from the baseline, while also protecting his own service games and returning a lot, and well. So I’m not going to dwell on this, because it all depends on Korda’s physical condition, which wasn’t great in Indian Wells (lower back, I think).
