Like at Roland?

Moutet won a set in their only meeting in 2024 at Roland-Garros; he'll be aiming for at least the same, but Sinner is evolving

Well first of all, Coco at Roland is a trap for everyone, and if you look at the other sets he still took a good beating, so I really don’t believe we can rely on that match to have hope, things are different now. Anyway, it’s good that he beat Machac yesterday, he sent everything back and let Machac make the mistakes, he didn’t need to do more and it’s a good win for the rest of his season before having some fun against Sinner already! Without wanting to be too harsh on him, I have very little hope of seeing him get a good score.

Sinner is back to destroying the tour, he hasn’t lost a set at Indian Wells and he’s adding net play and drop shots to his shot selection, an evolution he’s working hard on but that I still think is far from being at the right level. That might be the only thing that could backfire on him tomorrow: he wants so badly to use his new weapons that he makes the wrong choices. Moutet is 10x better than him in the short game too, and if the Frenchman holds up well enough from the baseline then Sinner will try drop shots or come to the net and that’s where Coco will have his say. I believe in that glimmer of hope a bit (without overdoing it either).
