Heartbreaker

I love these two players, but they’ve also been so good that it’s hard to choose!

Tabilo still hasn’t been broken once this tournament and Michelsen only once, which shows how strong they are on serve without necessarily being categorized as big servers. It’s more the serve +1 combo that’s excellent for them: capitalizing on the first serve and doing damage on the second shot. Michelsen is coming off an overall very good match against Norrie; he was logically ahead on the scoreboard before collapsing a bit in the second set, but he pulled himself together well. He’s already played two lefties, and last week he played Humbert. His very recent record against them is good, which makes sense since his best shot is the backhand, so he’s not bothered and should be fairly comfortable again tomorrow. Great attitude as always, but his physical condition can falter and I don’t find him always clutch in general...

On Tabilo’s side, it’s a win over Rublev in a three-set match where he didn’t have a single break point to save. He’s found his tennis again, but we’ve known and been saying that for several weeks now, so it’s no surprise. He’s also well helped by the famous Chilean supporters who make themselves heard. Miami is a tournament he likes, he’s confident, and this is exactly the kind of period where you want to back him. It’ll be the first meeting between the two; I don’t see a huge advantage for either one, I mainly see yet another match dictated by the servers.

The interesting bets will be on the overs if the lines aren’t too high, or on Tabilo since he’s the underdog...
