Zverev obviously?
The new version of the German player seems really very strong when everything clicks...
I don’t have much to say about this match. Zverev is integrating aggression into his game better and better, and he’s gradually finding his balance. There are going to be off days, because when you think about it, all this is quite new. Will that be against Cilic? I remember an off match this season for Zverev, it was against Diallo at the Australian Open. I don’t know if it was Diallo’s aggressive profile, or more the fact that it was the start of the season and the German was only just beginning to transform his game. I remember thinking: “Fuck, you just have to play your usual defensive game and you win.” And in reality, it was brave of him to try to play more aggressively even in a Grand Slam first round. Today, it’s paying off. And even if Cilic is going to go right at him, if Zverev keeps the balance he’s found, for me the win is guaranteed. First of all, it’s really hard to break him. And now, in the return phases where he’ll need to take risks, I now trust him to do it. Anyway, even against the experienced Cilic, who’s always dangerous in every match (even more so in fast conditions + low bounce), I just don’t see an upset here despite everything that’s happening in Miami this year.
