Vacherot like in Shanghai?

So saying he's catching fire is a bit much, because he’s had two good matches but I personally expect a bit more. Once again he’s imperial on serve, but in the rallies he doesn’t make a huge impression on me. Against Berrettini he was mostly clever: he managed the points really well to target the Italian’s shaky backhand and capitalized on very little to close out the match. Nothing negative in that, but I didn’t really like Berrettini’s performance, especially when you compare it to what’s waiting for him against Fils in the next round.

The Frenchman is coming off the best match of his life, big red flag in this kind of situation oddly enough; it’s so hard to keep rolling and back it up in the following match. The perfect example is Tsitsipas, who was playing at a top‑10 level against De Minaur and then completely blew it yesterday. Caution for Arthur, who is a bit (too?) arrogant sometimes. But here I’m deliberately playing devil’s advocate because otherwise it’s all positive on the French side: since his comeback he’s been a war machine playing easily at a top‑10 level. He only loses to FAA, De Minaur, Zverev, and Alcaraz. I also really like the match‑up for him: he returns better than average and doesn’t have any real weakness that Vacherot can exploit. A Vacherot win would require an absolutely massive serving performance and an Arthur who’s worse/not clinical, which is a lot of “what ifs.”
