Bianca Andreescu is kicking off her clay season in Charleston. After an impressive start to 2026 where she rediscovered the taste for success on the ITF circuit (13 wins in her first 15 matches), the Canadian now turns to green clay with clear ambitions. To prepare for this transition, Bianca spent part of her training block at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor. There, she fine-tuned her sliding and physical conditioning on clay, a mandatory step for someone who is betting everything this season on the “viability” of her body. Standing across the net is her nemesis of this early season, Dalma Gálfi. The Hungarian holds a major psychological edge: she beat Bianca just a month ago in Austin (6–3, 5–7, 6–4) in a match where the Canadian eventually faded physically after a strong first set. Having entered directly into the main draw, Gálfi arrives with the freshness needed to impose her aggressive game and immediately test Andreescu’s new footing. For Bianca, the stakes go beyond the simple result: she needs to prove that the lessons learned from her February defeat and her weeks of immersion at Nadal’s academy have given her the tools to turn the tide against an opponent who knows exactly how to make her doubt herself.
