Not the right part of the table
Unfortunately for Moutet, he's on Darderi's side, who won't play tomorrow and is waiting for him in the semis; the Frenchman has no time to waste!
I'd say this is a great opportunity for Moutet, you could almost say he might have to play a final before its time in the semis since the other half of the draw is wide open! The Frenchman might sense it, because in his first-round match he was flawless, even though the Moroccans this week are all fired up. Coco handled it really well and comes in with real ambition. He's also driven by the desire to make a good impression because he’s had a new coach for a little while now, so he’s got quite a few good things going for him.
Trungelliti is one of the surprises of this tournament, he’s 36 and came through the qualifiers. He’s beating good guys on paper, including Majchrzak in the previous round, but the Pole didn’t feel like fighting. I want to see what he does against a real grinder ready to play 3 hours like Coco. The Frenchman is going to make him play again and again while constantly breaking the rhythm. Wins have been rare this season, but he’s still playing at a good level; a good Trungelliti is still well within his range. At most, you could talk to me about a one-off tournament for the Argentine and a special context, but I don’t really buy it. I get the feeling he’s playing well but also just seized his chance, and that against a focused Coco he’s going to fold.
